Our April Book Sale Was a Great Success

Our April Book Sale raised $77,000, matching the success of our previous two sales. Approximately 4,500 customers attended, giving more than 32,000 books new homes.

A special thank you goes to the dedicated volunteers who collect and sort donated books throughout the year, as well as the 100-plus volunteers who helped set up displays, organize books, and assist customers during the sale.

We are also grateful to our enthusiastic patrons, many of whom were seen carrying armfuls of books. Thank you for embracing the experience—and for occasionally accepting the cure for “longarmitis”: a shopping cart!

Thank you to everyone who supported the April sale. We look forward to welcoming you to our next Book Sale at Elgin Park Secondary School from August 28 to September 1.

Volunteer With the Book Sale

Volunteers are essential to the success of this major community event. Help is needed before, during, and after the sale with setup, organizing books, assisting customers, keeping displays tidy, and other activities.

Please visit the Book Sale website to sign up as a volunteer. Volunteers are also welcome to help throughout the year with book collection and weekly sorting.

Donate Books

Donations of clean, gently used books, puzzles, and audiobooks are appreciated throughout the year. Book donations may still be placed in the blue donation bin on the north side of the Rotary Fieldhouse at 2197 148 Street, Surrey.

Large donations can be delivered directly to the warehouse on Monday mornings from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., when volunteers are available to assist with unloading. Please do not leave donations outside the bin.

During the Book Sale (August 28–September 1), please bring all book donations to the designated Donation Table at Elgin Park Secondary School.
