The playground funding project for Peace Arch and White Rock Elementary Schools, which was started in 2019 during past president Mauricio Browne de Paula's year, is now complete. Co-Chair Jack Rae and the committee are pleased to announce that the Rotary Club of White Rock presented a cheque of $ 63,000 to the Surrey School District #36 on Thursday May 27, 2021. The cheque was presented to Surrey School District #36 Senior Officer Ms. Liane Ricou by Co-Chair Jack the presence of current Club President David Grant. The hard working Rotary Club of White Rock Playground Committee raised over $126,000 for the two elementary schools.  The Peace Arch School's playground was completed in Nov 2020. Construction of the White Rock Elementary School's playground will start this June 2021.
Email from Liane Ricou to committee co-chair Raj and Jack:
Hi Raj - thanks so much for reaching out from India to ensure the White Rock Elementary playground donation is received and can receiving some much deserved public recognition for all of the Rotary's hard work.

I very much appreciate Jack and David visiting this morning (and your wife too Jack, so nice to meet her and thank you for taking the pictures!) and delivering the cheque to me personally.

I have delivered the cheque for immediate deposit and will confirm back with all of you the start date for the install project asap.

Again, my deepest thanks to all of your for your generous donation and for helping the students and community of White Rock Elementary.
