Another great meeting last week. This month's Leaders of Tomorrow recipient is Daniel Cook. Based on Rotary’s core value of “Service above Self”, criteria for this award is focussed on academic, cultural, and athletic achievements as well as dedication to serving others such as volunteering, leadership, mentoring, and community projects.
President Irene presented Daniel with his plaque and member Michele then presented Daniel with a certificate for a one-hour “Confidence Coaching” session and commented that after speaking with him briefly at the start of our meeting, we were giving the award to the right person. President Irene then presented five Paul Harris Fellows pins to our members George, Monique, Terry Peel and two pins to Kristina for their generous donations to the Rotary Foundation. Our guest speaker was Laurae McNally. Laurae is one of the longest-serving members, of the Board of Trustees at Surrey Schools in British Columbia. We learned a lot about the state of schools in Surrey. If you're interested in attending one of our meetings/lunch, send us a message and we'll make that happen.
