Another Successful White Rock Rotary Book Sale
The Rotary Club of White Rock’s August Book Sale wrapped up with another strong show of support from our community.
Held August 28 to September 1 at Elgin Park Secondary School, the five-day sale welcomed 4,764 customers, generated $70,841 in gross book sales before expenses, and saw an estimated 33,727 books leave the tables with new owners.
The move to Elgin Park Secondary was also well received. Customers particularly appreciated the improved parking and easy access, and the gym floor came through the event without damage—making the venue a promising option for future sales.
None of this would be possible without the tremendous work of our volunteers and the continued support of everyone who donates books, shops at the sale and spreads the word.
Thank you, White Rock and South Surrey! We look forward to welcoming everyone back for our next Book Sale in April.
District Governor Kathleen Olson Visits White Rock Rotary
The Rotary Club of White Rock is pleased to welcome Kathleen Olson, District Governor for Rotary District 5050, to our club meeting on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
The meeting will take place at:
St. John’s Presbyterian Church
1480 George Street, White Rock
Governor Olson’s visit is an opportunity for members to hear about District 5050 priorities for the 2026–27 Rotary year and learn more about how clubs throughout the district can strengthen membership, service, engagement and collaboration.
Members are encouraged to attend and help us give Governor Kathleen a warm White Rock Rotary welcome.
District 5050 Foundation Dinner – November 7
Join the Rotary Club of White Rock on November 7, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the White Rock Community Centre, 15154 Russell Avenue, for a special evening celebrating the impact of The Rotary Foundation at home and around the world.
The evening will feature distinguished guest speakers Liliane Boualam of the World Health Organization in Geneva and Vicki Puliz, Rotary International Vice-Chair 2026–2027.
Guests will enjoy a buffet dinner catered by Seriously Good Catering, along with a special Peace Pole Unveiling Ceremony. Valet parking will also be available.
Tickets are $79 CAD.
This promises to be an inspiring evening of fellowship, Rotary stories and a celebration of the difference our Foundation makes in communities around the world.
Miss Vicky 2027 Challenge Takes Aim at Polio
White Rock Rotary members Lee and Winston, together with Miss Vicky, are taking on an endurance challenge with an important purpose: helping Rotary finish the fight against polio.
The Miss Vicky 2027 Challenge for PolioPlus combines adventure, determination and Rotary service in support of Rotary International’s long-standing commitment to the worldwide eradication of polio.
Polio eradication remains one of Rotary’s signature humanitarian causes, and efforts such as the Miss Vicky Challenge help keep members and communities engaged in this historic campaign.
